2001 Candidates
Rudy MarconiRunning unopposed for a second term, as Ridgefield’s First Selectman is a great reward for the countless hours worked over the last two years. Many of you are encouraged by the school projects being on time and on budget and have seen the fruits of creative thinking with the purchase of the McKeon property. With much work still ahead of us the Bennett’s Pond issue is being addressed with closure in the near future.
In two years we accomplished much, but there is more to do. We must continue our efforts for education and open space. We must also find a way to add to our tax base through the development of our corporate zoned land. We must work hard on tax relief for our seniors. Over the next two years we hope to accomplish these goals. It is often said that it is the small things in life that mean so much and on Main St. it is the small things that have added to the charm of our community. It is these efforts that I promise to continue so that you the residents of Ridgefield can be proud of your town.
The Board of Selectmen team of endorsed candidates I have been working with these past two years has contributed tremendously in getting us where we are today and I need their help and support to continue this movement into the future. This November 6 you will have an opportunity to allow this management team to continue to operate your town and to keep it the Ridgefield we all know and love. Thank you and please vote November 6.
