Dr. Adeline (Lyn) Merrill has lived in Ridgefield with her husband since 1977. They have two daughters, one in college and one is a junior at RHS.
She has worked for the Ridgefield Public Schools since 1974. She has extensive experience at all levels from K-12. She was an English teacher and an administrator at the middle school, has served as the K-12 Language Art Coordinator at Central Office for five years and was principal of Farmingville Elementary School for the past three years.
She just retired from the Ridgefield Public Schools. In all these positions, she was involved with district-wide curriculum development, as well as the No Child Left Behind testing program. She has assisted with the school budget process for the past ten years, and is familiar with all nine school buildings and their personnel.
Dr. Merrill's 33 years experience with the school system will be especially important now that three BOE members who have knowledge of the educational system are not seeking re-election.
