Renominated By Acclamation
Delegates at today's convention enthusiastically renominated Chris Dodd, Dick Blumenthal, and Nancy Wyman by acclamation. The three popular Democrats, running unopposed, harnassed the enthusiasm of the 1,500+ Democratic loyalists to win their spots on a ticket that many have described as the most competitive in decades. Chris Dodd, Connecticut's senior Senator, has earned nationwide stature as an active proponent of traditional Democratic family values and a staunch supporter of the Clinton-Gore administration. Dick Blumenthal, the most popular and productive Attorney General in recent Connecticut history, has won a spot in the history books by successfully taking on Big Tobacco and Software Titan Microsoft. Nancy Wyman, renominated today for the Comptroller's position, has earned a reputation for her outstanding performance as the state's chief financial officer. | ||||
