July 8 -- Ridgefield Democrats made their presence felt at today's Sale-A-Bration festivities. Manning a booth on closed-to-cars Main St., Democrats greeted hundreds of townspeople and gave out more than 500 "Reelect Jim Maloney" balloons. 5th District Congressman Jim Maloney, a Danbury resident and frequent visitor to Ridgefield, spent a couple of hours at the Sale-A-Bration. Maloney joined DTC Chair Jim Diamond and First Selectman Rudy Marconi in walking the length of Main St., chatting with shoppers, and saying hello to the folks manning the various booths.

Teams of Democratic volunteers manned the booth, giving out balloons, campaign literature, voter registration forms, and chatting with Ridgefielders about the upcoming campaign. DTC Chair Jim Diamond joined volunteers and spent the afternoon manning the booth and introducing Cong. Maloney to shoppers. Diamond noted, "Jim Maloney has been a friend to Ridgefield long before he was elected to
represent us in Congress. I am thrilled with the enthusiastic response
Congressman Maloney received here. It's clear that his brand of accountable,
dependable leadership has caught on with Ridgefielders." The DTC Chair, who accompanied Rep. Maloney as he visited with townspeople, added, "Ridgefielders
recognize and applaud Jim's leadership on the environment, criminal justice,
housing and finance issues. Since Jim has repeatedly come to Ridgefield to
work closely with First Selectman, Rudy Marconi on government projects it's
no surprise that Ridgefielders are eager to thank the Congressman for his
diligence."
