Aug. 20 -- Ridgefield Democrats opened their Campaign 2000 Headquarters today, as key State officials joined local Democrats in celebrating the candidacy of Congressman Jim Maloney. Ridgefield DTC Chairman Jim Diamond said of the Democrats' location in a former record store in Copps Hill Plaza, "This headquarters may be a storefront, but don't mistake it for a front, like the recent Republican Convention. This is a real headquarters where volunteers work seven days a week and voters are welcome at any hour." More than 100 well-wishers stopped by today to meet Rep. Maloney, Ct. Comptroller Nancy Wyman, Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz, First Selectman Rudy Marconi, and just to enjoy the camaraderie of enthusiastic fellow Democrats.

Headquarters before fix-up
The Headquarters space was relatively deserted just a few short days ago. The Maloney team and DTC members made great progress in turing an empty space into a vibrant headquarters in record time.
