Today featured the first visit of the President to the Ridgefield area, as well as Ridgefield Democrats' first annual "Marconi Challenge" golf event. DTC Chair Jim Diamond said, "This was a wonderful day for Ridgefield Democrats. Our golfers matched their skills against First Selectman Rudy Marconi, while others joined President Clinton in rallying voters for Jim Maloney. Then, we all came together for a terrific dinner and a good-natured roast of our esteemed First Selectman. I was glad that I could see the President and then shoot over to the Golf
Challenge to pay tribute to another talented public servant, Rudy Marconi." About 100 Ridgefielders gathered for the dinner and roast at the nearby Salem Golf Club
