Oct. 19 -- The Ridgefield Democratic Town Committee tonight
voted to endorse the capital spending package known as the "bundling package"
which was approved by the Board of Selectmen the night before. The package
represents a systemwide school initiative for the Town and addresses the
urgent construction and renovation needs across Ridgefield's entire school
system. Also included will be the construction of a new Parks and Recreation
facility closer to Town as well as a new Senior Center.
In endorsing the package, James Diamond [photo, right], Chairman of the Ridgefield Democratic Town Committee said, " In order to maintain the excellence of our school system these long awaited improvements must be made. The Democratic Town Committee encourages the voters to join us in supporting this excellent package which will enrich our Town for generations to come. Passage of this package by the Board of Selectmen marks a historic day for Ridgefield. I am proud of our elected officials who participated in the decision making process which led up to this vote, and am most proud of the extraordinary leadership and courage which has been displayed by our First Selectman, Rudy Marconi."
