May 3 -- Ridgefield Democrats announced that they are seeking
candidates for municipal office in November including all town boards and
commissions. "This is the time when Ridgefielders with an interest in the
town, our schools, our finances and our critical planning issues, should
think seriously about running as Democrats in the Fall of 2001. I and other
members of the Democratic Town Committee are eager to meet with you, and work
together for a winning slate," spoke Susan D. Cocco, Chair (photo, left).
The Democratic Town Committee, will host interviews/conversations with community residents who want to explore running for local offices at two meetings in the month of June. Specifically, interviews will be held on: June 7th at 8PM in Town Hall, lower level conference room, for parties interested in the Board of Education, the Police Commission, Planning and Zoning, Zoning Board of Appeals and alternates and Board of Assessment Appeals. On June 14th, in the same location, interviews will be held with those interested in the positions of First Selectman, Board of Selectman, Board of Finance, Town Treasurer and Tax Collector.
To be considered for any of these spots on the Democratic slate, residents need to contact the Chair, Susan D. Cocco, for an appointment. Interview times can be scheduled on either of the two nights, if necessary.
"Our team is ready to offer Democrats campaign assistance, the services of professional marketers, support and volunteers in the upcoming election. With First Selectman Rudy Marconi leading the town, we have an excellent opportunity to continue to improve the quality of life in Ridgefield and make a difference for all citizens," offered Mark Robinson, Vice Chair.
