Sept. 8 -- Democratic candidates met the voters today at St. Mary's Fall Festival. The Festival, held under beautiful blue skies with balmy temperatures, drew thousands of Ridgefielders, as it does each year. Democratic candidates used the opportunity to speak with voters about the important issues at stake in the Novemeber election, and urged them to help sustain the momentum established by Rudy Marconi by supporting the endorsed Democratic ticket.

Everyone who meets Michael is very impressed with his extensive background in law enforcement and public safety.
[Right] Board of Finance candidates Joanne Murray (far left) and Mike Jones (in hat) talk with open space advocates Susan Baker and her husband Tom Elliott. The Elliotts are well aware of the crucial role played by the finance board in protecting open space in town, having watched first-hand the debacle of the current Board temporarily derailing the effort to preserve Bennett's Pond. Mike Jones, as a Ridgefield Selectman, was the first elected official to propose that the Town acquire the Bennett's Pond property to preserve its unique character.

Both Roger and Joanne are first-time candidates - Ridgefielders impressed with the progress the town has made under First Selectman Rudy Marconi who are getting personally involved in advancing that agenda.
