Gubernatorial Hopeful Curry Courts Ridgefield Democrats

Bill Curry addresses DTC Dec. 13 -- Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Bill Curry paid a visit to Ridgefield Democrats tonight. Curry, a former state senator, state comtroller, and counselor to President Clinton, discussed the failures of the Rowland administration and presented his blueprint for property tax reform, revitalizing Connecticut's cities, and improving the State's efforts to assist education. Curry's visit followed earlier visits to Ridgefield Democrats from Senate Majority Leader George Jepsen and Stamford businessman John Nussbaum, who are also seeking the Democratic nomination for the 2002 Governor's race. Mark Robinson and birthday cake DTC Vice Chair Mark Robinson was surprised with a birthday cake. Mark didn't anticipate that DTC party planners would collude with his wife to spring the surprise at tonight's meeting. Not to be nonplussed, Mark reacted quickly, cut the cake, and enjoyed a big piece of it himself.
