Special Town Meeting Approves Bennetts Farm Plan

Rudy Marconi addresses Town Meeting Attendees at Special Town Meeting
Feb 13 -- Ridgefielders approved the development plan for the south parcel at Bennetts Pond tonight. In a Special Town Meeting, a nearly unanimous majority voted to approve the plan which had been developed by the Board of Selectmen, acting as the Economic Development Authority, for corporate office development on the southern portion of Bennetts Pond. First Selectman Rudy Marconi (photo, left) reminded townspeople that this was the next logical step in the Town's plan to take control of the 600+ acre Bennetts Pond site. Previous moves have led the town taking ownership of the larger northern parcel for open space in Decemeber 2001. Tonight's move will enable the development of a corporate office park on the smaller southern portion, a move which will add tax-producing property to the Grand List.
