Ridgefield Police Commissioner George F. Kain has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Police Commissioners Association of Connecticut. The Association is comprised of current and former police commissioners of municipal police departments in Connecticut.
Kain was elected in 1999 to a four-year term on the Ridgefield Police Commission. He is Assistant Professor in the Division of Justice and Law Administration at Western Connecticut State University and is a doctoral candidate in criminal justice at the City University of New York. Kain also is affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, the American Society of Criminology, the American Probation and Parole Association and the American Correctional Association.
The Police Commissioners Association of Connecticut has over two hundred members who are commissioners representing more than 65 local police commissions. The PCAC’s mission is to promote the improved effectiveness of the state's local police departments, and to that end, it has developed a broad-based program of information exchange based on the experiences of Connecticut police departments.
