Aug. 10 -- Democratic candidates Stephanie Sanchez and George Jepsen were introduced to Ridgefielders by Rudy Marconi at today's Nutmeg Festival. Sanchez (photo, left), running for U.S. Congress, and Jepsen (second from left), Bill Curry's running mate for Lieut. Gov., enjoyed the beautiful Saturday weather and the great hospitality of St. Stephen's church and its pastor, Rev. Dick Gilchist (in blue tee shirt). First Selectman Marconi (right), who introduced the candidates to fairgoers, said, "The Curry-Jepsen team and Congressional candidate Stephanie Sanchez are taking a real interest in Ridgefield - our town, our people, and our issues, like halting the spread of casino gaming in Connecticut. They've visited frequently prior to today, and they'll be back often - during the campaign and then again after they're in office. We are fortunate to have candidates for key State and Federal offices who are so focused on Ridgefield's interests."

After talking with Stephanie and hearing her views, they both agreed she would be a great Congressman to represent Ridgefield in the spirit of Jim Maloney, for whom she worked several years ago.
