Aug. 29 -- Ridgefield Democrats gave a warm welcome to State Comptroller Nancy Wyman (photo, right) today. As the State's chief accountant, Wyman is widely credited with keeping Connecticut's financial books in top-notch shape. She is running for a third term this Fall.
The reception for Wyman, held at Ridgefield's Mirabella restaurant, featured First Selectman Rudy Marconi (photo, left). Marconi told the gathering, "Nancy Wyman is a tremendous asset for Ridgefielders and all the people of Connecticut. In this era of questionable accounting, she has ensured that Connecticut's financial posture is top quality and above reproach. I'm delighted she's agreed to serve a third term as Comptroller, and I urge voters to return her to office." Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill Curry has also urged voters to return Nancy Wyman to office, along with running mates Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz, Treasurer Denise Nappier, and Attorney General Richard Blumenthal.
