Aug. 9 -- First Selectman Rudy Marconi visited with voters at St. Stephens Nutmeg Festival today. The event, an annual Ridgefield tradition, is usually one of the first stops on the campaign trail for local candidates. While Rudy was eager to hear opinions on schools, taxes, and open space, many of those greeting him had another "big event" on their minds to talk to Rudy about.

Seems the word is out that the First Selectman is a brand-new Grandpa - and everyone wanted to congratulate him. Jackson Alexander Marconi was just born to Rudy's son Alex and wife Megan in the Boston area. Jackson, who clocked in at 8.2 lbs. and 19.5", and Mom are doing great, the proud grandparents report. Today's warm and muggy weather did not seem to deter festival-goers, who were pleased that the event escaped the rain that seems to have become a permanent fixture here lately.
