Big Tag Sale A Success

Ronna Gilbert and Howard Gale Democrats in Ridgefield raised money for the upcoming 2004 campaign activities and for two scholarships for RHS seniors (Class of 2005) with demonstrated interest and leadership in politics and government. Thier second annual Tag sale, held May 22-23, drew enthusiastic crowds once again.

The sale offered every kind of item imaginable-from the sublime to the not so sublime-priced for quick sale. Ridgefield Democrats were be on hand to talk politics 2004 -Presidential, Congressional and local-as well as to help patrons load their cars with finds.

Ridgefield Democrats are supporting the active involvement of youth in government and politics with proceeds raised via this event and through their support of the RHS Young Democrats Club. The RHS Young Democrats are involved in activities such as meetings with local and State leaders, the Presidential race, seminars in Hartford, elections and learning the ropes about how to become a candidate and run for office. They hold informal events and social activities as part of the club’s activities. High school students plan and run the activities. The group is currently involved with the campaign of Diane Farrell for Congress and related activities.
