Danbury Mayor Eriquez Endorses Rudy Marconi

Danbury-- November 1,1997 Gene Eriquez, Mayor of the City of Danbury today announced his endorsement of Rudy Marconi for First Selectman of Ridgefield. In making his endorsement Mr. Eriquez issued the following letter to the people of Ridgefield:

To the People of Ridgefield:

I am proud to offer my endorsement and support for the candidacy of Rudy Marconi for First Selectman of Ridgefield. Rudy is a person of intelligence, integrity and leadership qualities who will lead Ridgefield to an even higher level.

I know Rudy as a person of commitment who will face issues that confront Ridgefield head-on while others might put them off or avoid them completely. He has offered creative alternatives in addressing Ridgefield's needs and has fought the battles that needed fighting, despite the odds of victory or the number of opponents.

I am very impressed with Rudy's record of accomplishment as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission and as a Selectman. His experience and vision for Ridgefield make him qualified for the job of First Selectman and worthy of your vote. He has distinguished himself with his position on education in Ridgefield, a proposed Arts Center, open town government, an expanded tax base and the concern of underage drinking.

I ask the people of Ridgefield to join in their support of Rudy Marconi for First Selectman. His election will insure the outstanding quality of life enjoyed now in beautiful Ridgefield and provide for its continuation in the next millennium.
