In late spring, water lilies cover the pond.
Beavers have brought down yet another large tree on the side of Bennett's Pond. This tree has been felled since our last visit in February.
After the recent spring rains, the stream that flows down from Ned's Mountain into Bennett's Pond is full.
This area, just to the north of the pond, is the site of lots of work by the area's industrious beavers (we couldn't bring ourselves to say "busy beavers"...) This strip of land, which was muddy and wet in winter, is now submerged in several inches of water. Is this the result of beavers damming the area by the stone wall which separates it from the pond? We don't know.
