Ridgefield celebrated Memorial Day under warm blue skies today. With the temperature hovering in the high 80's, clear skies, and light breeezes blowing, thousands of townspeople crowded Main Street for the annual Memorial Day parade. [Photo, right] Everyone loved the bands, the floats, the marching Boy and Girl Scout troops, but the fire engines were a special favorite of the many youngsters lining the parade route. [Photo, left] What's a Memorial Day parade without the local politicians? Here, Selectmen Mike Jones (right) and Joe Savino (center) are driven along the route of march by Selectman Jones' spouse, Annie Hallinan, (left).
The Girl Scouts were well respresented in the parade!
