Democrats Pick Municipal Slate; Marconi To Lead Ticket

Ridgefield Democrats' 1999 slate was endoirsed at tonight's caucus. Seated [front]: Mike Jones, incumbent Selectman; Rudy Marconi, First Selectman candidate; George Kain, Police Commission candidate. Standing [back]: Bernie Dzielinski, Finance Commission Chairman; Henry Seemann, candidatefor ZBA Alternate; Di Masters, P&Z Commissioner; Rob Miller, Board of Education candidate; Bob Opotzner, incumbent Board of Education; and Kitty Fischer, incumbent Board of Education.

July 27 -- Ridgefield Democrats tonight selected Rudy Marconi to lead their ticket in this fall's municipal elections. Marconi, who was endorsed for the First Selectman slot by acclamation, will lead a ticket marked with experienced incumbents and several talented newcomers. Seeking reelection are Selectmen Mike Jones and Barbara Manners, Board of Education members Bob Opotzner and Kitty Fischer, Board of Finance Chairman Bernie Dzielinski,and P&Z Commissioner Walter Slavin. They are joined by George Kain, seeking election to the Police Commission for the third time; Joe Heyman, candidate for Selectman; Rob Miller, Board of Education candidate; and Ridgefield dentist Dr. Henry Seemann, running for ZBA Alternate in his first venture into Ridgefield politics.
