Newly-elected Democratic First Selectman Rudy Marconi, commenting on the final step in an unusually lengthy election process, said, "In 1999 we were fortunate to have more excellent candidates for the Board of Selectman than the law allows to be seated as Democrats. Mike Jones and Joseph Heyman are both talented individuals who have contributed a lot to our town. Unfortunately only one of them could be seated on our Board of Selectmen. Today, the voters chose Joseph, and I know Mike joins me in congratulating him. Now that we have a complete Board, I look forward to getting on with the critical issues facing the Town." The lineup of the Board will now be: Chairman - First Sselectman Rudy Marconi [D], Barbara Manners [D], Joseph Heyman [D], Peter Yanity [R], and Steve Zemo [R].
